The Nine "House-Posts" of Gaol Naofa
The organization and tradition of Gaol Naofa are founded upon and supported by nine fundamental elements and
principles or "house-posts"-- a house-post being the central supporting structure of ancient Irish dwellings. They
are as follows:

Lore/ Tradition- the collective knowledge and experience of Gaelic peoples as expressed through mythology,
folklore, values, history, and written and oral traditions; traditional customs, beliefs, practices, arts, and wisdom--
all of which guide and inform our lives.

Truth- living in accordance with and upholding what is right, just, and honest.

Righteousness- applying, practicing, and preserving traditional values, virtues, and ethics in everyday life.

Na Trí Naomh ('The Sacred Three')- the three divine communities in which we share a common world with, and
who we honor and wish to live in harmony with: déithe (gods), sinsir (ancestors), aos sí (natural spirits).

Family- the basic unit of society, and the foundation of Gaelic Polytheist devotion and ritual; the sacred kinship
bonds which form our communities.

Nature- the vast sky, the firm land, and blue sea; it is through nature that the divine express themselves, and it is
from nature that good and noble knowledge comes to man. As Gaelic Polytheists, we strive to live in attunement
with our land, its cycles and seasons, and natural spirits.

Knowledge- the strive to understand our world, our history, and Truth; the accumulation of facts, the use of
rationality and reason, and the pursuit of excellent wisdom.

Folk/ Tribe- we as people of Gaol Naofa, we as Gaelic Polytheists, we as Gaels; our Gaelic Polytheist
communities.

Ritual- its is not necessarily theology that provides us with spiritual and secular cohesion, but a common body of
shared rituals, practices, customs, and rites.
